Reconeyez system is installed in device groups consisting of one bridge and up to 8 detectors or sirens. The limitation of 8 devices per one bridge ensures acceptable alarm transmission speed and timely arrival of all Routine check messages and synchronization of all device configuration values from user interface to devices. More than 8 devices per bridge can cause issues with connectivity and alarm/device configuration arrival. All Reconeyez devices in the same device group need to be on the same 2,4 GHz channel (eg. the default channel 22).
The correct order of installation is that first the bridge is configured via the Reconeyez app and its mobile signal connectivity checked. Installing all devices without verifying that there is adequate mobile signal is not advised. After verifying bridge connectivity to Reconeyez server installer can continue with detector and siren installation. During detector and siren installation installer can verify its connectivity to the bridge by using the Trace function in Reconeyez app. Trace function displays the live 2,4 GHz signal in dBm from each device to the bridge. Final connectivity test before installer leaves the site should involve triggering at least one alarm event from each device and verifying that it arrives into Reconeyez server.
Each detector and siren should have direct line of sight with its bridge as a rule. This will ensure minimal packet loss and fastest alarm event transmission to server. If this is not possible due to buildings or landscape profile, then alarm transfer will be slower and device battery depletion faster. In areas with large concrete building or mountains, it is advised to install several device groups to cover the desired area from all directions so there would be good connectivity between each detector and its bridge.
Multiple device groups in the same area or installation site (in 1 km radius) means that device groups must be programmed to use different 2,4 GHz radio channels. Failure to do so will result in detectors communicating with several bridges that they can "hear". This will result in occasional or permanent connectivity problems. To change the 2,4 GHz channel user the Reconeyez app and choose correct 2,4 GHz channels for each device in the app Device configuration menu. Do not forget to change the scanned channel also in the Reconeyez app to find the devices again after their channel is changed.
There are several preparations that need to be done before going to the installation site. First of which is ensuring that the installer has adequate user rights that allow them to log in to the app and the cloud to configure appropriate Reconeyez devices. Ask your Owner or Moderator user to create and configure your Reconeyez user account. After logging in, configure your local User timezone in user Preferences menu - in the upper right hand corner of main page.
Identify the devices that you wish to install by their serial number and ID number. Serial number is printed in device battery slot. ID numbers are the numbers appearing in Reconeyez cloud. Shipping documents include a list which allows to match the two numbers without an effort. Contact your distributor if this information is not included with the shipment. Before heading to installation site, please log into the Reconeyez cloud and create a new device area under Active folder in Devices menu. Group all the installed devices into this new device area. Make sure that all devices are grouped in the Active folder in the Reconeyez cloud - Inactive folder will not allow motion alarms to server, since it is meant for stock devices. Organised devices allow to execute installation quickly.
Configuring and testing the bridge in advance is an excellent way to avoid issues on site. This consists of the following activities:
Due to Li-ion battery shipping requirements new batteries are charged to 40%. Full charging cycle may last up to 12 hours.
Always insert all 4 batteries into the bridge to hermetically seal it.
Always insert all 4 batteries into the bridge to hermetically seal it.
Always insert all 4 batteries into the bridge to hermetically seal it.
Always insert all 4 batteries into the bridge to hermetically seal it.
Order test photo with Reconeyez app from detector that has been mounted. Display motion sensor trigger zones onto the test photo in the Reconeyez app. Adjust detector downward angle so that the uppermost 30 meter detection zone is pointed at maximum desired range (30 meters) at the height of ca 1.2 meters (average person’s stomach/chest height).
Check that the Device configuration menu of any device does not have any unwanted configuration from previous installations (eg. active Schedules, Tamper sensor switched off, Make multiple pictures set to 50 etc). Refer to Handheld manual for detailed overview of all parameters.
As a final connectivity test make sure that at least one alarm from each device reaches the Reconeyez cloud. NB! Switch off the Reconeyez app to test motion/tamper alarm traffic to your Reconeyez server.
After the installation and connectivity test log into Reconeyez cloud on your computer/tablet and set the Schedule for all detectors that you wish to trigger at specific times to avoid false alarms from authorized people on the guarded site. Refer to Reconeyez cloud manual for details.
